I've seen hundreds of cat images on dA, and you know what? None of them are as good as this. Honestly - overall it is a brilliant capture, and when you look at the final details - no flaws. The title really fits the image, the tilt of the cats head gives it an overwhelming sense of curiousity - at least, thats what I feel.

The focus and lighting are brilliant, and I have no idea whether this was planned or not - but it sure gives the impression every little detail was thought of and cared for. I love the softness around the edges, and the sharpness of the cat. The fact that the second cat is out of focus really adds something special to it - it sort of tells a story, you know? New cat in the neighbourhood, lets go check him out! Overall, I loved it. Definitely going to become one of the images I frequent just to put a smile on my face.

Anyone who has browsed through the most recent photography submitted to this website has seen the ridiculous amount of pictures of domestic cats uploaded everyday. This one to me is an absolute stand out. I love this photo. To me, it really looks like a frame taken straight out of a children's movie or something.

Your composition here is really fantastic, and everything that needs to be sharp is very sharp. You've got a pretty shallow depth of field here, and some might say they would like to see a wider one, but I really think it works here, and I like the way it isolates the cat.

Lighting wise, this is just great. You shot this photo at the right time of day, from the right angle. The cat is back lit just enough. Your post processing seems to be minimal, and not overdone at all.
