Looking trough my macro at small insects give me so much more respect towards the smaller things in life.
Problem on the other hand is..
I now know how scary they really look.

wich will probably result in nightmares.
Cool :D

(spider's thoughts) 'When I grow up, I'm gonna be just like my great-great-great-great+1000 grandmother Shelob!'

*grins*

Spiders are very interesting, actually. But then most arachnids and insects are if you watch them long enough.

True,
I love following them with my 100mm.. its like you can see em think..
Im gonna go there.. and then do this..
Ow.. another male spider.. lets fight!!

ooh ooh ooh!!
I remember 2 little spiders that walked over the same branch.. when they noticed each other they started to dance..
First one paw up.. like \o. shake it, and then the other paw. while walking around eachother.
I think it took about 30 minutes and after that they started dating.. or killing..

how close up do you actually have to get (to the bugs) even with this lens?

Well, you can always crop your image if you cant get to close.
(but make sure you have a steady hand/tripod/monopod to decrease the camera movement).

but with this one you can get as close as around 10cm's (4 inch).

ROFL. Seems that the male ego (aka posturing) is seen everywhere, lol. Great spider shots.
